House Overview

The house is from early 1900 but modernised in the 1980s. It has three floors plus basement. It was renovated after the earthquake South of the area in 1976 (1). Our area is hit now and then by minor tremors, never violent ones!

The ground floor is our private residence.
The first and second floors contain two apartments each with their own entrance, i.e. a total of 4 apartments. Each apartment has a double bedroom, kitchen/living room with table, chairs, fridge, and cooktops each with 4 electric ceramic plates (apts. 1 and 3) or a single electric plate (apts. 2 and 4). There is a microwave oven in apt. 1. All apts. have bathrooms with toilet, bidet and shower (and tub on the ground floor).
Heating is provided by radiators from a recently installed gas furnace in the small 'firehouse' under the outside staircase. There is a TV flat screen with a DVD player and 250+ movies in apt. 1. Travel literature, maps and brochures, and a guestbook are found in apt. 1. Please contribute with 'prose', fx your experiences in the house and in the surroundings. Suggestions for improvements are always welcome!
The basement is accessible to everyone. Here you will find tables and chairs, barbecue, vacuum cleaner, iron, ladders and other garden tools, including an electric grass mower.
The views to the South from the terrace, the backyard, and especially from apts. 1 and 3, are very beautiful year round: Up against San Pietro, the church on the mountain ridge, and against Monte Amarianna close to Tolmezzo, where the valley ends with River But's inlet into River Tagliamento. The latter empties into the Adriatic Sea North of Venice. San Pietro is lit at night, and its bells ring magnificently several times a day in the valley. Monte Amarianna glows in 5-10 min at sunset (in good weather). At night, the stars are immensely beautiful due to the locality almost 600 meters up. In the Summer, fireflies exhibit early evening light shows close to the terrace.
