Fiolstraede 32, 3rd floor

Manual (2023)

Dear guest

Welcome to our apartment! We are very excited that you have chosen to stay in our unpretentious flat in the latin quarter of the city center and hope that you enjoy your time in Copenhagen. Please feel free to let us know if you need anything, or if you have any concerns. We’ll assist you in any way we can.

Overview

Basic amenities have been provided. If you need to laundry, you also have access to our washing machine (and dryer) in the ground floor of the house (entrance from the yard; the key to the entrance door from Fiolstraede will open the door).

Feel free to use our kitchen cooking ware, utensils, and appliances as needed. Please clean your dishes etc., and don’t leave food in the refrigerator. In general, please keep the apartment in the same condition you found it when moving in.
Please note that access to the bed in the attic requires use of a steep ladder (black on photos). This may be a challenge for older and/or disabled guests. Please use the bed and/or the sofa in the flat (bed sheets are provided).

The apartment does not have a TV, but you can access Danish and many foreign TV stations via computer and the free internet connection, see below.

Our home is part of a non-smoking environment. If you need to smoke, please do so outside the house and dispose of your cigarettes afterwards. The house is ≈ 400 years old and state-protected!

Car driving and -parking; for details, click here.

Cars are generally not welcome in the old city, and parking is difficult if not impossible in this part of town and subject to sizeable fines if you do not follow the signs and parking stands. As of 2024, you may drop off and pick up passengers and luggage in Fiolstræde from 6 to 11 a.m., Sundays and holidays also from 5:00 p.m. on to next day at 11 a.m. Drive carefully and remember that pedestrians have the right of way under all circumstances. If you need to park a vehicle, you may do it in the underground garage under Israels Plads 150 meters Northwest of Nørreport Station (expensive).

Internet access

The apartment has high-speed Wi-Fi/Internet connection. The router is placed in the window at the end of the room. The SSID/Network name is ZyXEL31A550_5G (or ZyXEL31A550 if you don’t have 5G), and the WPA/Access code is AEE8D86B3F7B.

If you have issues connecting to the internet, please pull out the power cord on the backside of the router (placed in the far back window sill). Wait for 30 sec., then plug in again, and restart. After 15-30 min., try reconnecting your device.

Of course, there may be a problem at the Network Service Provider, but I have only seen this once in the last three years.

Please let me know if the above doesn’t clear the problem: kb.priv@mac.com

Extra guests (children, pets)

For safety reasons, the apartment isn’t equipped with a cot for small children. Sorry, Pets aren’t allowed in the apartment.

The garden/yard (Rosengaarden)

You may use the garden for relaxation and eating. Larger gatherings and parties are not allowed w/o special permission.

OBS: As of late Nov 2024, we’ll install a new Wi-Fi / internet connection. So, you may need your cellular connection.
