The house is in the Carnic Alps immediately East of the Dolomites and in the Italian state Friuli*-Venezia Giulia; emphasise “u” in Friuli (1).

Friuli-Venezia Giulia is one of five autonomous regions in Italy, South of Austria, and West of Slovenia. The main town in F-VG is Trieste and, in our region, Udine (emphasise “U”). Tolmezzo is the nearest bigger city.
Venice is 2 hours South; always worth a visit outside the touristic (and hot) season in July and August.
